Registered Letter to the USA dated June 13, 1917
This registered letter from Hoihow to the USA is franked with a pair of SG6 ten cent stamps paying the 10c Registered letter fee and the 10c Treaty/UPU rate. The stamps are cancelled with a Type Hi, Index D cds, of which less than 25 examples are known to exist on cover and the majority of these are index C. The Index D is extremely rare. This is also believed to be one of only four existing examples of the boxed Registered handstamp. |

The stamps are cancelled with a Type Hi, Index D CDS, of which less than 25 examples are known to exist on cover and the majority of these are index C. The Index D is extremely rare. This is also believed to be one of only four existing examples of the boxed Registered handstamp. |
